I’m always surprised at the number of Cayenne Turbo’s used as tow vehicles at HPDE events. Then again, my HPDE’s are with the NJ Porsche Club, so everyone’s partial to the Porsche brand.

All these ML/GL, X5, Q5/Q7, Cayenne and soon the Macan once depreciation hit are nice if you are used to german luxury and don’t want to live with an american truck for towing. Usually they have a lot of punch in a small engine or are available as diesels.

If you attend a PCA trackday at Road Atlanta half the parking lot looks like this.
